The Übermensch
The human being who creates their own values rather than inheriting them.
Often mistranslated as "superman" and grotesquely misappropriated by 20th-century fascism, the Übermensch in Nietzsche is the human possibility beyond the inherited Christian-moral self. The Übermensch is whoever does not need transcendent values to affirm their life — who is the source of meaning rather than its consumer.
